Scottish legend Ally McColl has hailed Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings ‘ save of the season. After cutting off a goal-line effort to help his team beat Club Brugge 3-1 in the Champions League.

Villa took the lead in the first leg of their away game. Before equalising in the 69th minute when Hans Vanaken headed a cross into the net.
However, Mings managed to divert the ball wide of the post with his leg. Villa then secured the win with an own-goal and a penalty kick by เล่น UFABET ผ่านมือถือ สะดวกทุกที่ ทุกเวลา Marco Asensio.
“I think it was Tyrone Mings’ save of the season and one of the best on-line saves I’ve ever seen,” said McColl, a former player with 61 caps for his country, during his time as a pundit.
“How did Mings do that…!? It was incredible he ruled it out, given the size of the game you’d think. He’d have chipped it into his own net. “
It was clever defensive play but Mings will be a little bit disappointed the referee didn’t give the corner because some people might have thought he didn’t.”
Villa also visited the ground late last season when Mings mishandled the ball and lost a penalty to Club Brugge 1-0.
“It was redemption for Tyrone Mings and a real game-changer,” England legend Rio Ferdinand said of his compatriot, 31.
“After that the momentum of the game completely changed, Club Brugge looked demoralised and Villa pulled out the winner and I’m pleased Mings was instrumental in that.”
